Human Effort Multipled With God’s Power

Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?

November 1, 2009This morning I before going to church I read Our Daily Bread. The portion of day’s message that spoke to me was that I cannot please God through my own efforts alone. I cannot develop spiritually with only my own strength and I cannot reach my goals without the Lord. Going to service confirmed that I need to sharpen my focus on God’s plan. My family was my aunt for thanksgiving and visited Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Washington D.C. One point from the pastor was that God sets up circumstances to draw us back to him. Clearly, the opportunity ahead of me is to be drawn closer to the Lord and accelerate my path toward the goals. By focusing on what God wants for me to do with my time, talent and treasure, I may refine my short and long term goals and I will celebrate on earth and in my life everlasting as I partner with God to show the world his glory. His grace has always been with me and I know with my increasing focus and action, I will bear fruit of my developing relationship with Jesus. My effort will be multiplied by the supernatural effort of the Lord.
