GospelFit THANKSgiving Diet Challenge Day 19 ~ Set Free

Day 19 – Romans 6:17-18 (NIV) 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

The foundation of our faith is that we are saved for eternity. We know that Jesus is our Lord and savior and our pathway to a life of freedom. The freedom starts right here as we are living our walk. The beauty in our allegiance with Christ is that we are never walking alone. While we continue on our journey, we may find challenges that may momentarily shake us. However, these challenges never disconnect us from the freedom we have in Christ.

To connect with what God wants of us reading and meditating on the Word in an atmosphere of prayer is important. I have found that during this 21 day Thanksgiving Diet Challenge that I am more connect to the Word. It is said that it takes 21 days to build a habit and I’m looking forward to a better habit of thanksgiving continuing beginning on day 22. Thus far, my connection and time spent with the Lord along with my daily sharing has helped to direct each and every step which makes each day better…even when there is challenge. Even in those challenging moments, I find the Word as comfort. For it says in 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. When I take this in my heart, mind and soul, I am set free from the stress of the situation and know that the Lord sets me free for an eternity that starts now.

Knowing the Lord and being set free today and every day is such a blessing and reason to be thankful each and everyday.
