Celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Eat Avacado
Cinco De Mayo is the celebration of victory. In 1862, The Mexican militia defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla. Mexico had won its independence at midnight on September 15, 1810 and now found itself in battle with the French under the pretext of the French desire to collect outstanding debts. Spanish and English troops who had arrived with the French had settled their debts and left. The French had other ideas.
Mexico prevailed. Their defeat of the French prevented Napoleon III from supplying the confederate rebels which helped to end the Civil War 14 months later.
We celebrate their victory in the tradition of Moses and Miriam.
Exodus 15:20-21 20 Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them: “Sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea.”
To make our celebration a Divinely Healthy one, we can add a little avocado to our plate. Avocado is a healthy monounsaturated fat with many benefits.
